The Charming "Galette des Reines" is returning to Le Meurice, with Swarovski!
Le Meurice's delicious New Year cake, "Galette des Reines" is returning to the most Versaillaise of Parisian hotels. Recognised for having been the Palace of Kings in the 19th Century, Le Meurice is today pays a special tribute to Parisian women - the Queens of Paris; be they the strong and silent, or the famous vibrant and vivacious women; and those who exude elegance and l'art de vivre. This year, special attention should be paid with the eyes as well as the taste buds, because hidden inside 1 in 10 galettes, is a Swarovski lucky charm. These lucky charms are made from black crystals, to echo the blackberries, and are shaped like a dress, tinged with touches of silver representing hope. Camille Lesecq, Head Pastry Chef at Le Meurice has created the frangipane galette with a touch of humor and a lot of glamour. Traditionally known as the "Galette des Rois" he has added wild blackberries from the Alluets Valley, and garnished with edible silver leaf, for a truly Royal finish.
