Limited Edition Cocktail to be unveiled at Le Meurice Bar 228
01 August 2008
Fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac has invented a limited edition cocktail in collaboration with Bombay Sapphire Gin and William Oliveri, head Barman at Le Meurice.
The cocktail named “le Bombay JC/DC” after the initials of the fashion designer, is inspired by a Polynesian adventure, and is a mélange of Bombay Sapphire gin, raspberry and ginger, served with a wild hibiscus flower. Available from September 2008, the fresh and fruity taste will leave drinkers feeling refreshed and is the perfect late-summer treat.
This cocktail will be the first in a series of four specially-designed cocktails for Bombay Sapphire gin. The unusual recipes will be created by ambassadors of different nationalities, giving a different horizon to each, and will carry the name of a town to illustrate the international origins of the gin’s flavours.
“Bombay JC/DC” - The Recipe:
• 4 cl Bombay Sapphire gin
• 1.5 cl ginger vinegar
• 1.5 cl raspberry liqueur.
Shake with ice and pour over a wild hibiscus flower and Demerara sugar. The cocktail will be available at Le Meurice Bar 228 from mid-September until mid-October.
