Camille Lesecq creates « special Frimousse » for Le Meurice, the unique eatable doll for the Unicef

01 September 2008 Le Meurice is delighted to announce that it will be participating in the sixth annual Unicef France’s event, “Frimousses de Créateurs”. This event brings together one hundred of the world’s leading designers from the fashion, art and design worlds, each of whom have designed a fabulous doll which will be auctioned to raise money for Unicef. Camille Lesecq, Le Meurice’s pastry chef, has created the first and only edible doll to be part of the auction; a veritable treat for the eyes and the palate.

Camille’s unique “Frimousse” is made out of white chocolate, dusted with gold powder and takes the shape of a fairy-tale magician walking two mini ‘Pistache’ dogs; the hotel’s famous mascot. Studio Harcourt have created a signed portrait of the doll with its creator, Camille Lesecq, which will be won with the doll at the auction. All the “Frimousses de Créateurs” will be on display from 18 to 23 November 2008 at the Petit Palais in Paris. The dolls will then be taken to Drouot-Montaigne for a public auction on 27 November, which will also be online at www.droudot.com. This year, the funds raised will go towards financing a vaccination campaign in Darfur and is supported by Laeticia Halliday, and Delphine Arnault-Gancia, President of the Comite d’Honneur. Camille Lesecq joined Le Meurice as a Pastry Chef in 2004 and now at just 27, he manages a team of twelve in the hotel’s kitchens. Here he creates deliciously innovative desserts alongside 3 Michelin star Executive Chef, Yannick Alléno.
